Madison (and much of Wisconsin) will  be expecting heavy snow and blizzard conditions for Thursday, December 20th. The University will be closed to non-essential personnel which means our office will also be closed. We anticipate being up and running as usual Friday (albeit with more snow).

Office Excitement

 It's possible that a few of us in the office were excited by our newly painted wall that acts as a dry-erase whiteboard. We just had to try it out...

WTS survey deployed!

Yesterday, we invited many of you to take part in a short survey to help us design a new website and request management system.  Thank you to everyone who has taken the survey so far - we've had a great response rate!

The survey is open until October 15, so if you haven't taken it already, you've still got time.  We'll send out an email reminder next week.

One common complaint we've noticed so far is that people are not happy with our library catalog, which was redesigned this summer.  Alas, we can't do anything about that.  However, if you liked searching the old interface better, you still can - just go to http://madcat.library.wisc.edu/ (also linked from our home page).

Stay tuned - we'll post more results after the survey is closed.  Again, THANK YOU to all of our wonderful customers for taking the time to give us some feedback.  We appreciate it!!!

President vising UW Madison on Thursday

President Obama will be holding a rally at UW Madison on Thursday, October 4th.  WTS will be open for business as usual, but the Law Library will be closed all day, and we may experience other disruptions accessing libraries or moving around campus.

Web server moved - problems encountered

Our web server was moved last night, and we've encountered some problems.  Clients aren't able to log in to our web form or download articles we've delivered.  We're working to correct the problems and hope to have them resolved very, very soon.

We can still accept requests by email - just send them to wts@engr.wisc.edu.  We'll keep scanning requests and filling orders even though we're not at 100% functionality.

Spring Is Here!

Spring has come early to campus and we're enjoying all the beautiful early flowers. The crab apple tree on our corner is in full bloom. We hope everyone else is enjoying a bit of spring where ever they might be.

At the All-California Institute

I'm having a good time at the All-California Institute in San Diego. The exhibits are in the main ballroom, so I get to sit in on some of the sessions.

Exhibiting at conferences always inspires me to think of ways to make our service even better for our clients. As always, we LOVE to hear from our users about how we can help make your working lives easier. Please don't hesitate to suggest improvements, and we'll do our best to implement them.
